Day 16: Last week on Thursday, May 9th, the first attempt to dig a hole for the new bulkhead door failed
when ledge was discovered. They returned today with their expensive hammer attachment. Rich said
those things run about $200k. With this tool they were able to hammer into the ledge, find a seam,
and take the thing apart. There really wasn't a "Plan B" because there was nowhere else the
bulkhead door could be put. Fortunately today was a success. The hole is ready. The concrete
cutter is coming tomorrow. Once he is done then the bulkhead people can deliver and install. |
