Day 222: On Dec 6th of the home improvement project dumpster #7 was
removed! That's a lot of construction debris over the course of the
project. The charge for the heaviest dumpster was $1000. I installed an AC outlet in the storage area so that we could move the mini fridge and freezer out of the basement bedroom where they've been for the last six months. Julia will be here for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's so we wanted the room to be nicer for her. Everything has to come out of that room anyway when the basement phase of the project starts in January. The final city inspection was yesterday. There were two minor problems. The AC panel circuits in the garage hadn't been labeled. The electricians stopped by for a few minutes today and solved that one. The other issue has to do with the stairs from the entryway into the garage. There are 4 steps. A hand rail is required. I had saved the old basement stairs railing so Rich is going to use that. It will be a nice memory to have something from the old house that will see frequent use. Once those issues are resolved we will get the occupancy permit from the city. We're almost done! |
