Day 225: On Dec 9th of the home improvement project Rich installed a hand
rail for the garage stairs. He was able to make a new railing using the
old basement stair railing that had been in the house since 1968 when the
house was built. Over the past 39 years DNA from all of us has been
embedded in that railing. It's nice to have something in the new house
that will be a frequent reminder of the old house and get used a lot. I emailed a picture of the railing and of the labeled breaker panel to the city inspector. That should close out the issues with our final inspection. We should get the occupancy permit soon! The dishwasher I ordered back on Oct 4th is finally available for pickup at Best Buy in Nashua. It was supposed to be available on Oct 24th. I wonder which world events caused the delay? The basement finishing phase of the project will start in January some time. There's no real rush on that. We'll make it fit into Rich's schedule. Rich Metivier, owner/operator of RPM Builders, has been awesome. We are extremely pleased with how this project has unfolded. Rich has been a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend him to anyone needing a remodel to be done. |
